Lighting Retrofit and Control
Lighting surveys, system redesign and project management

Lighting technology has been evolving quickly since the mid-80's.  Each new product has its appropriate place and application, but they are often misapplied.  And lighting vendors or contractors aren't going to tell you what their competitors offer.

Without correct analysis and design, you may not be getting the best combination of energy savings, occupancy comfort, and employee productivity.  A complete lighting upgrade is more than just replacing ballasts and tubes in existing fixtures.

Factors Affecting Costs and Results
  • Operating environment (fixture access for maintenance, dirt exposure, temperature variance, lux or footcandle requirements for tasks)
  • Light source (fluorescent, incandescent, HID, LED)
  • Fixture photometrics (reflectors, lenses, louvres)
  • Ballasts operating characteristics (losses in ballast, life expectancy, power factor, vulnerability to power distortion, dimmability)

Modern Lighting Control

Static lighting control technologies like motion sensors and timers have been around for years, however fluorescent ballast technology has recently made it possible to flexibly define lighting zones and control strategies in software.  With addressable-dimmable ballasts, computer technology can be applied to adjust individual light fixtures according to the changing needs of occupants.  Occupancy sensing, daylight sensing, and local occupant input can be combined to save 30% or more even on a highly-efficient lighting design.

State-of-the-Art Capabilities

Our lighting specialists use the latest computer tools to design, budget and manage your projects.  Simple database entries allow you to compensate for pricing changes, or to perform "what if" analyses on competing design options.

After the audit and preliminary design are done, experienced lighting engineers visit each site to verify the design integrity throughout the building, and to identify any further opportunities.

Then our CAD operators create reflected ceiling plans suitable for tendering or negotiation with a trusted installer.  Once the installer is chosen, we provide contract management and quality control processes so you can rest easy, and sign off when the new systems are installed and commissioned.

Why not contact us to see if we're the right fit as your independent lighting specialists?
