We are looking for an experienced CAD technician to build our capabilities in designing and laying out substantial building mechanical retrofit projects. If you are a CAD operator looking to expand your role into client interaction and design responsibilities, this would be a good fit for you.

• Replacing hot water heating plants in high rise apartments and condominiums.
• Replacing HVAC systems in schools, and possibly converting school steam plants to hot water.
• Replacing piping and ductwork systems in hospitals.
This is a high-demand niche market. A highly-skilled and motivated applicant will be encouraged to get involved with design and project management.
Primary Activities:
• Single- and double-line piping layout using AutoCAD 2005.
• Accurate site takeoffs.
• Accurate schematics of existing piping systems, gathered only from site investigations, and drawn using Microsoft Visio software.
• Occasional single- and double-line duct layout using AutoCAD 2005.
• Following prescribed internal quality control processes and naming conventions.
• Assembling and editing specifications.
Skills and Experience:
• 2 years CAD experience drawing HVAC systems in a Canadian engineering consulting office, particularly in our key market areas.
• Quality focused.
• Responsive but low-stress interaction with others.
• Very comfortable with computers and software applications.
• Ability to take care of details without losing sight of the “big picture”.
The following skills are desirable but not essential.
• DDC control system point layout.
• Design of chilled water plant upgrades, including chiller replacement.
