Budget 2009 - Stimulus Funding for Conservation and Rewal

Body

UPDATE: Feds offer "first dollar" loans for municipal housing work.
Efficiency Engineering is ready to help public sector clients qualify for the flood of stimulus funding approved in the 2009 Canadian federal budget.

This is a unique opportunity to erase the effects of decades of deferred investment and restore these buildings to good health.  Municipalities, universities, and colleges are especially well positioned.

The sums are huge, and funding will be prioritized on project merit and project readiness.  EEI can help in both areas:

Merit - Energy efficiency and "green" energy projects, our specialties, are specifically targeted.

Readiness - We are retrofit engineers with 20 years experience planning efficiency and renewal projects in existing buildings.

Financing is Available

Projects will require "first dollar" matching funding from the recipient organizations, however institutional investors are already stepping up to finance this portion, even off-balance-sheet.

Projects can be fully funded without any up-front investment from the building owner.  Where there is a conservation component, the energy savings stream pays back the investor.  Properly structured, there is no capital investment and no increase in operating costs to the building owner.
